Mounds View downs Roseville, 5-1

John Sarafolean had one point to lead the Mounds View Mustangs to a 5-1 victory over the Roseville Raiders.

Mounds View excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Mustangs got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. By firing 40 shots on goal, Mounds View exceeded the 0.1 shots it averages per game this year.

Mounds View also got points from Andrew Bjorklund, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Jacob Tretsven, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Andrew Gretsch also scored for Mounds View. More assists for Mounds View came via Ryan Gallagher, Darian Romanko, Max Knutson, and Ryan Elvidge, who each chipped in one.

Roseville did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Raiders put an average of 3.9 pucks into the net per game.

Roseville was led by Colton Brauesen, who scored the team's only goal. Brauesen scored 8:32 into the second period to make the score 1-1.

Brandon Smith recorded 19 saves for the Mustangs. Mounds View incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Raiders' Zach Larson stopped 35 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Roseville ended with 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors.
