Duluth East survives White Bear Lake comeback, wins 4-3Vadnas Heights Sports Complex Tue, Jan 15, 2013 The White Bear Lake Bears tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Duluth East Greyhounds held on for a 4-3 victory. Duluth East took a 4-2 lead during the third period, only to have White Bear Lake storm back on a Thomas Delaney goal 13:27 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Jack Forbort had two goals to lead the Greyhounds to victory. Forbort's tallies came short handed at 11:26 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Duluth East and 14:35 into the second to make the score 3-1 Duluth East. Duluth East relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Phil Beaulieu, Alex Toscano and Andrew Kerr took 16 of the team's 31 shots. The Greyhounds' offense was helped by the efforts of their defensemen, who managed to put 14 shots on net during the game. Duluth East also got a goal from Brian Bunten as well. In addition, Duluth East received assists from Ryan Lundgren and Jack Kolar, who contributed one a piece. Seven of the Bears' 17 shots were taken by Jake Wahlin, who managed one goal. White Bear Lake additionally got points from Delaney, who also had one goal and one assist. John Tauer also scored for White Bear Lake. Other players who recorded assists for White Bear Lake were Ben Wilke, Seth King, and A.J. Welch, who each chipped in one. Dylan Parker recorded 14 saves for Duluth East. The Greyhounds incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. White Bear Lake's Chase Gorman stopped 27 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Bears totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play.
