Hastings downs Forest Lake in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Hastings Raiders pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Forest Lake Rangers on a clutch goal by Jake Caneff.

Hastings was paced by Caneff, who finished with one goal and one assist. Caneff scored 7:12 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Hastings. Bailey Siewart picked up the assist.

The Raiders kept Forest Lake's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jesse Garcia made 34 saves on 37 shots.

Hastings additionally got points from Siewart, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Mikey Junker also scored for Hastings. In addition, Hastings received assists from Matt Koch, Joe Shingledecker, Jake Otto, and Brandon Boogreen, who contributed one a piece.

The Rangers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Forest Lake did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Rangers put an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game.

Forest Lake was led by Cody Rogala, who had one goal and one assist. Rogala scored 1:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Forest Lake. Noah Brown assisted on the tally. Forest Lake also got a goal from Brett Gravelle as well. More assists for Forest Lake came via Kyle Parker, who had one.

Matt Radke recorded 21 saves for Hastings. The Raiders incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Rangers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
