Munson's goals lift Edina to 2-1 victory over White Bear Lake

Cullen Munson had two goals to lead the Edina Hornets to a 2-1 victory over the White Bear Lake Bears.

Munson scored on the power play at 3:59 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 16:09 into the second to make the score 2-1 Edina.

Edina managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Hornets wound up below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game. With 31 shots on target during the contest, Edina exceeded the 14.9 shots it averages per game this year.

In addition, Edina received assists from Parker Reno, Bo Brauer, and Tyler Nanne, who each chipped in one.

White Bear Lake did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Bears put an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game. White Bear Lake put 19 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.4 it averages per game.

The Bears were led by Peter Wachtler, who scored the team's only goal. Wachtler scored 1:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 White Bear Lake. John Tauer assisted on the tally.

The Hornets' Andrew Rohkohl stopped 18 shots out of the 19 that he faced. Edina registered two goals on two power play opportunities. Max Green made 29 saves for White Bear Lake on 31 shots. The Bears incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
