Stillwater's Jungman deadly on offense in 5-2 win against East Ridge

Behind a great game by Brandon Jungman, who had two goals, the Stillwater Ponies defeated the East Ridge Raptors, 5-2.

Jungman scored at 13:52 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Stillwater and again while 15:01 into the third to make the score 5-2 Stillwater.

East Ridge's power play was ineffective against Stillwater's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The the Ponies penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and one major for 19 minutes in penalty time. Stillwater had been averaging 9.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Ponies kept the Raptors' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Guck made 31 saves on 36 shots.

Stillwater also got points from Josh Clark, who also registered one goal and one assist. Stillwater also got a goal from Jon Heddle as well. In addition, Stillwater received assists from Nick Peterson and Mitch Reinke, who each chipped in one and Cates Devin and Zach Fedie, who contributed two a piece.

East Ridge was often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 21 minutes in penalty time. The Raptors surpassed its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. East Ridge was held below its usual level of production. The Raptors average 4.4 goals per game. East Ridge's offense rang up 32 shots on Stillwater's net.

The Raptors were led by Jack Greeley, who racked up one goal and one assist. Greeley scored on the power play 3:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 East Ridge. East Ridge had gotten the advantage when the Ponies' Clark was sent off for slashing. Steven Fronek provided the assist. Luke Ringhofer also scored for East Ridge. More assists for East Ridge came via Robert Nickoloff and Ryan McDonough, who each chipped in one.

Colton Anderson made 30 saves for Stillwater on 32 shots. The Ponies registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
