Roseville beats White Bear Lake 4-3 after comeback scareRoseville Thu, Dec 20, 2012 The Roseville Raiders survived a determined comeback attempt by the White Bear Lake Bears on the way to a 4-3 win. A goal by Andrerw Colvard put Roseville up 4-2 in the third period, but White Bear Lake pulled to within one on Tommy Giller's tally 5:50 into the third period. The defensemen of the Raiders were also effective in the Bears' zone, and came away with two goals. Roseville additionally got points from Ross Stecklein, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Colton Brauesen, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Roseville also got a goal from Ryan Novotny as well. Other players who recorded assists for Roseville were Robb Stautz, Ryan Larson, and Justin Dorr, who contributed one a piece. White Bear Lake put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Roseville to score on any of its four power plays. The 35 shots that the Bears put on net surpassed White Bear Lake's average of 2.1 shots per game this season. The Bears were led by Jake Wahlin, who tallied one goal and two assists. Wahlin scored 3:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 White Bear Lake. Wyatt Newpower provided the assist. Seth King also scored for White Bear Lake. In addition, White Bear Lake received assists from Jake Dittel and Ben Wilke, who each chipped in one. Zach Larson recorded 32 saves for the Raiders. Roseville ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. White Bear Lake's Michael St. Martin stopped 21 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Bears incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
