Colvard leads Roseville over Forest Lake, 5-2

The Roseville Raiders' Andrerw Colvard had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 5-2 win over the Forest Lake Rangers.

Colvard found the back of the net 38 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Roseville and again while on the power play 3:56 into the second to make the score 3-1 Roseville.

Forest Lake was unable to stop Roseville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Raiders eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Roseville also got points from Robb Stautz, who also registered one goal and two assists and Ross Stecklein, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Colton Brauesen also scored for Roseville. More assists for Roseville came via Ryan Novotny and Ryan Larson, who each chipped in one.

The Rangers' offense operated below they season average. Forest Lake puts an average of 4.5 pucks into the net per game. The Rangers forced Roseville goalie Zach Larson to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Forest Lake found itself short handed often, totaling 14 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays.

The Rangers were led by Cody Rogala, who finished with one goal and one assist. Rogala scored 1:50 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Roseville. Brett Gravelle assisted on the tally. Forest Lake also got a goal from Kyle Parker as well. Other players who recorded assists for Forest Lake were John Suess, who had one.

Larson rejected 29 shots on goal for the Raiders. Roseville ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Forest Lake's Jesse Garcia stopped 40 shots out of the 45 that he faced. The Rangers registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
