White Bear Lake rolls over East Ridge, 6-2Cottage Grove Ice Arena Tue, Dec 11, 2012 The White Bear Lake Bears were firing on all cylinders against the East Ridge Raptors, and when the final buzzer sounded Bears emerged with a 6-2 win. Jake Wahlin had two goals and one assist to lead White Bear Lake. Wahlin scored the first of his two goals short handed at 3:34 into the second period to make the score 3-0 White Bear Lake. The Bears played down a man on Wyatt Newpower's interference. Wahlin's next tally short handed made the score 6-2 White Bear Lake with 10:21 left in the third period. Peter Deppert picked up the assist. White Bear Lake's penalty kill excelled, as the Bears gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. With 28 shots on target during the contest, White Bear Lake exceeded the 1.4 shot it averages per game this year. The Bears outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, White Bear Lake averages 3.8 goals per contest. White Bear Lake additionally got points from Seth King, who also tallied two goals and one assist, A.J. Welch, who also had one goal and one assist, and Tommy Giller, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, White Bear Lake received assists from Jake Dittel and Ben Wilke, who each chipped in one. East Ridge kept the Bears' goalie busy throughout the game, and Max Green made 33 saves on 35 shots. The Raptors were led by Devin Donohue, who racked up one goal. Donohue scored on the power play 13:28 into the second period to make the score 3-1 White Bear Lake. An elbowing penalty on Welch had put East Ridge on the power play. Tyler Hart provided the assist. East Ridge also got a goal from Nicholas Leach as well. More assists for East Ridge came via Steven Fronek, who had one. White Bear Lake incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Raptors' Nicholas Maki stopped 22 shots out of the 28 that he faced. East Ridge incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
