Eagan wins tough contest against East Ridge, 5-4

The game between the Eagan Wildcats and the East Ridge Raptors was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Eagan emerged with a 5-4 win.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Jack Jenson's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

With three goals and one assist between them, Kyle Stebbing and Jenson teamed up to power the Wildcats' offense. Stebbing grabbed two goals and Jenson also added one goal and one assist.

Eagan's offense rang up 31 shots on East Ridge's net.

Eagan also got points from Tommy Muck, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Jenson, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Zach Glienke, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Eagan came via Nick Wolff, Ian Entzion, Peter Zibley, and Jesse Gabrielle, who each chipped in one.

The Raptors did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. East Ridge puts an average of 9.5 pucks into the net per game.

The Raptors were led by Derek Hammer, who tallied two goals. Hammer scored the first of his two goals at 6:08 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Eagan. Brady Hanson picked up the assist. Hammer's next tally made the score 3-2 Eagan with 4:36 left in the first period. Hanson provided the assist. East Ridge additionally got points from Robert Nickoloff, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Ryan McDonough also scored for East Ridge. Other players who recorded assists for East Ridge were Jack Greeley, who had two and Tyler Hart and Ian Penvose, who contributed one a piece.

Andrew Lindgren recorded 25 saves for the Wildcats. Eagan incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. East Ridge's Tyler Guck stopped 26 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Raptors incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
