Pettit's big game bests Breckenridge/Wahpeton in 10-1 Wadena-Deer Creek win

Bridger Pettit was all over the ice for the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines, as he tallied two goals and six assists in Wadena-Deer Creek's 10-1 win over the Breckenridge/Wahpeton Blades.

Pettit found the back of the net 16:56 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Wadena-Deer Creek and again while 5:49 into the third to make the score 8-1 Wadena-Deer Creek.

The Wolverines' offense rang up 37 shots on Breckenridge/Wahpeton's net. Wadena-Deer Creek found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Wolverines average 4.8 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with five goals.

Wadena-Deer Creek additionally got points from Mitchell Swanson, who also had three goals and one assist, Christian Berg, who also registered two goals and three assists, and Jake Krause, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Dylan Phillips also scored for Wadena-Deer Creek. Other players who recorded assists for Wadena-Deer Creek were Shane Motschenbacher, who had one and Mike Paavola, who had two.

The Blades were led by Tyler Wohlers, who scored the team's only goal. Wohlers scored 1:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Wadena-Deer Creek. Brett Pietron provided the assist.

Wesley Janson recorded 14 saves for Wadena-Deer Creek. The Wolverines incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Breckenridge/Wahpeton's Michael Withuski stopped 27 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Blades incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
