Dodge County survives Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter comeback, wins 4-3

The Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter Bulldogs tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Dodge County Wildcats would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

Dodge County made the score 4-2 on a goal by Kylo Courteau at 3:26 in the third period, and Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter got as close as 4-3 when Ryan Hoehn scored 11:35 into the third period.

Tanner Dufault had two goals and one assist to lead the Wildcats. Dufault scored the first of his two goals at 15:18 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Samuel Robinson assisted on the tally. Dufault's next tally made the score 3-2 Dodge County with 19:28 left in the third period.

Dodge County put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Bulldogs to score on any of their three power plays.

Dodge County also got points from Robinson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Dodge County were Spencer Senn and Christian Schillo, who contributed one a piece.

Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Bulldogs ended up below its season average of 6.0 penalty minutes per game.

Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter was helped by Jonny Favre, who finished with one goal. Favre scored 15:46 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Austin Braun picked up the assist. Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter additionally got points from Hoehn, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter also got a goal from Levi Steuck as well. More assists for Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter came via Brett Zallek, Sam Wenner, and Brock Solomon, who each chipped in one.

The Wildcats' Mitch Sobotta stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Dodge County incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Chris Amsden made 23 saves for the Bulldogs on 27 shots.
