Dodge County outlasts New Ulm, 5-3Dodge County FSA Tue, Jan 08, 2013 The game between the Dodge County Wildcats and the New Ulm Eagles was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Dodge County emerged with a 5-3 win. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Spencer Senn at 7:58 of the third period. Samuel Robinson and Senn provided the spark for the Wildcats, combining for three goals and two assists. Robinson registered two goals and one assist and Senn also notched one goal and one assist. Dodge County excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Wildcats' offense rang up 31 shots on New Ulm's net. Dodge County additionally got points from Senn, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Tanner Dufault also scored for Dodge County. More assists for Dodge County came via Cory Schillo and Christian Schillo, who each chipped in one. The Eagles kept Dodge County's goalie busy throughout the game, and Mitch Sobotta made 28 saves on 31 shots. New Ulm was led by Blake Neumann, who finished with two goals. Neumann scored the first of his two goals at 13:16 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Neumann's next tally made the score 3-3 with 11:41 left in the second period. New Ulm also got a goal from Ethan Kraus as well. Other players who recorded assists for New Ulm were Colin Huffman, who had one. The Wildcats incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brach Kraus recorded 26 saves for the Eagles. New Ulm incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
