Northfield boosted by Jones' play in net, beats Dodge County 2-1

The Northfield Raiders relied on the sparkling performance of Spencer Jones in net to grab a 2-1 win against the Dodge County Wildcats.

Northfield was led by Nathan Scofield, who tallied one goal. Scofield scored on the power play 1:00 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Northfield. An interference penalty on Spencer Senn had put the Raiders on the power play. Nate Picha assisted on the tally.

Northfield avoided man-down situations, registering one major for 15 minutes in penalty time. However, the total the 8.0 minutes in penalty time per game the Raiders had been averaging this year. Northfield forced Dodge County goalie Mitch Sobotta to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

Ryan Malecha also scored for Northfield. More assists for Northfield came via Taylor Freiermuth, who had one.

The Wildcats were led by Bryan Knesel, who scored the team's only goal. Knesel scored 15:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dodge County. Senn picked up the assist.

Spencer Jones made 25 saves for the Raiders on 26 shots. Northfield registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Sobotta recorded 41 saves for Dodge County. The Wildcats incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
