Huge game by Naas boosts Benilde St. Margarets over Marshall School Duluth, 6-1

The Benilde St. Margarets Red Knights' Spencer Naas had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 6-1 win over the Marshall School Duluth Hilltoppers.

Naas scored at 15:52 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Benilde St. Margarets and again while 7:15 into the third to make the score 5-1 Benilde St. Margarets.

Benilde St. Margarets was led by goalie Andrew Sprang, who finished with 37 saves while allowing one goal. Sprang managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.8 prior to the game.

By firing 38 shots on goal, the Red Knights exceeded the 20.3 shots they average per game this year.

Benilde St. Margarets additionally got points from Nate Labosky, who also had one goal and one assist. Benilde St. Margarets also got a goal from Grant Besse as well. Other players who recorded assists for Benilde St. Margarets were T.J. Moore, who had one and Johnny Austin, who had two.

Marshall School Duluth's offense rang up 38 shots on Benilde St. Margarets' net. The Hilltoppers gave up more goals than its normal season average. Marshall School Duluth is averaging 1.9 goal against for the season.

The Hilltoppers were led by Jeremy Lopez, who scored the team's only goal. Lopez scored on the power play 13:07 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A checking from behind penalty on Zack Hale had put Marshall School Duluth on the power play. Anthony Miller picked up the assist.

The Red Knights totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. For Benilde St. Margarets, Hale was ejected from the game. The Hilltoppers' Alex Murray stopped 32 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Marshall School Duluth incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
