Pine City/Rush City downs Ely/Northeast Range in overtime, 7-6 (OT)Ely Arena Sat, Feb 16, 2013 The Pine City/Rush City Dragons pulled out a 7-6 (OT) overtime victory over the Ely/Northeast Range Timberwolves on a clutch goal by Conner Werner. Although Pine City/Rush City was up by as many as two goals in the third period, Ely/Northeast Range kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Timberwolves pulled to within 5-4 on a goal by Patrick Kerntz at 7:23 in the third period. Adam Swanson had one goal and four assists to lead the Dragons. Swanson scored 16:31 into the third period to make the score 6-6. Casey Lucht picked up the assist. Ely/Northeast Range was unable to stop Pine City/Rush City from sending pucks towards the net, and the Dragons eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. Pine City/Rush City's goal total was higher than its season average. The Dragons average 3.4 goals per game. Pine City/Rush City additionally got points from Werner, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Jake Kleinsasser, who also had one goal and one assist.
