Proctor rips Pine City/Rush City, 10-2

The Proctor Rails were firing on all cylinders against the Pine City/Rush City Dragons, and when the final buzzer sounded Rails emerged with a 10-2 win.

Proctor pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 39 penalty minutes.

The Rails stifled Pine City/Rush City's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Dragons were unable to stop Proctor from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rails eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Proctor's goal total was higher than its season average. The Rails average 4.1 goals per game.

Proctor was helped by Josh Ernst, who racked up one goal and three assists. Ernst scored on the power play 16:57 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Proctor. The Rails had gained a power play chance when Adam Swanson was whistled for high sticking. Cade Hella assisted on the tally. Proctor additionally got points from Shane Gould, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Christian Ripley, who also had two goals and two assists to lead the team in points, Brodie Nordquist, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Austin LePage, who also registered two goals and one assist. Proctor also got a goal from Jake Malec as well. More assists for Proctor came via Tanner Bergman and Evan Scherber, who contributed one a piece.

Pine City/Rush City's offense rang up 32 shots on Proctor's net. The Dragons were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 26 penalty minutes.

Jacob Mercier made 30 saves for the Rails on 32 shots. Proctor registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Tony Pitzen recorded 23 saves for Pine City/Rush City. The Dragons registered zero goals on eight power play opportunities.
