Minneapolis beats Moose Lake Area 17-0 as Winter gets hat trick

Evan Winter lifted the Minneapolis Novas to a 17-0 victory with a hat trick against the Moose Lake Area Rebels.

Winter notched his first tally 8:05 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:57 into the second and at 13:40 into the second.

Minneapolis scored early and often, and held a 7-0 advantage after the first 20 minutes of play.

Moose Lake Area was unable to stop the Novas from sending pucks towards the net, and Minneapolis eventually piled up 82 shots on goal. The Novas bested their season scoring average. Minneapolis averages 7.0 goals per game. The Novas capitalized on the Rebels' penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage.

Minneapolis additionally got points from Joe Gantenbein, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Ross Nesbit, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Henry Christman, who also racked up three goals and two assists, Jimmy Roth, who also registered one goal and one assist, Cris Grassel, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Josh Huisken, who also grabbed three goals and two assists, and Alex Reyes, who also had one goal and three assists. Others who scored for Minneapolis included Grant Miller, who had one and Peter Hacker, who had two. In addition, Minneapolis received assists from Kyle Helmstetter, who had two, Simon Bergford, Connor McGinley, and Robert Adams, who each chipped in one, and Tony Pnewski and Stellan Christensen, who contributed three a piece.

Moose Lake Area did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 10 shots on net to force 10 saves.

TJ Moseley rejected 10 shots on goal for Minneapolis. The Novas incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Gage Mohelsky recorded 65 saves for the Rebels. Moose Lake Area incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
