Huge game by Christman boosts Minneapolis over Richfield, 10-2Parade Ice Garden Thu, Jan 10, 2013 Henry Christman was all over the ice for the Minneapolis Novas, as he tallied four goals and one assist in Minneapolis' 10-2 win over the Richfield Spartans. Christman's first goal came 20 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 5:45 into the first, at 8:21 into the first, and at 5:40 into the second.The Novas put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Richfield to score on any of its four power plays. Minneapolis outdid its season average for goals scored. The Novas have scored at the pace of 4.7 goals per game during the current campaign. Minneapolis' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Minneapolis also got points from Peter Hacker, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Joe Guimont, who also racked up one goal and five assists to lead the team in points, and Tony Pnewski, who also tallied one goal and four assists. Ross Nesbit also scored for Minneapolis. More assists for Minneapolis came via Jimmy Roth and Josh Martin, who each chipped in one. The Spartans managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Richfield ended up below its season average of 8.0 penalty minutes per game. The Spartans kept the Novas' goalie busy throughout the game, and TJ Moseley made 30 saves on 32 shots. Richfield was led by Joe Richards, who registered one goal. Richards scored 6:20 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Minneapolis. Jack Stellon picked up the assist. Richfield also got a goal from Kody Ahlstrand as well. Minneapolis incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. John Meyer recorded 15 saves for the Spartans.
