St. Paul Highland Park's comeback falls short, Becker-Big Lake wins 5-3St. Paul Thu, Feb 07, 2013 The Becker-Big Lake Eagles, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Becker-Big Lake and clinched a 5-3 victory. The Eagles led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Becker-Big Lake's Elliott Darsow's scored at 6:15 in the second period to put the Eagles up 3-0. Tristan Gust was all over the ice for Becker-Big Lake, as he tallied two goals in the win. Gust's tallies came on the power play at 13:34 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Becker-Big Lake and short handed 15:40 into the third to make the score 5-3 Becker-Big Lake. The St. Paul Highland Park Scots were unable to stop the Eagles from sending pucks towards the net, and Becker-Big Lake eventually piled up 70 shots on goal. Zach Veau also scored for Becker-Big Lake. Other players who recorded assists for Becker-Big Lake were Brandon Christianson, Ethan Boutin, Ryan Houghton, John Messman, Nick Stalpes, and Richard Eisenreich, who contributed one a piece. The defensemen of St. Paul Highland Park were also effective in the Eagles' zone, and came away with two goals. The Scots were led by Jackson Buelow, who tallied two goals.
