Tyler Becker netted a hat trick to lead the Faribault Falcons over the Winona Winhawks, 5-3.

Becker notched his first tally 8:02 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:38 into the first and at 16:25 into the third.

Faribault led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Falcons' Logan Murphy's scored at 1:22 in the second period to put Faribault up 4-1.

Winona's power play was ineffective against the Falcons' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Faribault forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up five minors and two majors for 30 minutes in penalty time. The Falcons surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game. Faribault excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Falcons outdid their season average for goals scored. Faribault averages 2.9 goals per game.

Faribault also got points from Connor Wierschem, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Faribault received assists from Luke Thom, who had two and Jacob Werner, Christan Von Ruden, and Daniel Pierce, who each chipped in one.
