Windom Area downs Redwood Valley, 8-2

Kyle Luhmann had two points to lead the Windom Area Eagles to an 8-2 victory over the Redwood Valley Cardinals.

In a losing effort, Redwood Valley was sparked by Hunter Breidenbach, who grabbed two goals. Breidenbach scored the first of his two goals at 14:38 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Chris Hallden picked up the assist. Breidenbach's next tally made the score 2-1 Redwood Valley with 19:07 left in the second period. Zach Blum provided the assist.

Windom Area forced the Cardinals goalie Jordan Houle to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Windom Area also got points from Devin Neilsen, who also finished with two goals and one assist to lead the team in points, Zach Bartosh, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Travis Janssen, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Mitchell Macek, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Tyler Presthus, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Eric Haberman also scored for Windom Area. In addition, Windom Area received assists from Andrew Hirsch, who had one and Stuart Schumacher, who had two.

More assists for Redwood Valley came via Koillin Joines, who had one.

Ben Stubbe rejected 21 shots on goal for the Eagles. Windom Area incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Houle recorded 38 saves for Redwood Valley. The Cardinals incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
