Warroad holds on for 3-2 win against Marshall School Duluth

The Marshall School Duluth Hilltoppers tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Warroad Warriors would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

Warroad took a 3-0 lead during the second period, only to have Marshall School Duluth storm back on a Kyle Jones goal 10:54 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Warriors were helped by Jared Bethune, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Bethune scored 16:17 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Warroad. Kobe Roth provided the assist. Warroad also got points from Roth, who also had one goal and one assist. Casey Anderson also scored for Warroad. Other players who recorded assists for Warroad were Kyle Sylvester and Brandon Newhouse, who each chipped in one.

The Hilltoppers were helped by Joe Daly, who racked up one goal. Daly scored 6:17 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Warroad. Cam McClure picked up the assist. More assists for Marshall School Duluth came via Jeremy Lopez and Jack Dodd, who contributed one a piece.

Justin King made 28 saves for Warroad on 30 shots. The Warriors totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Alex Murray recorded 26 saves for Marshall School Duluth. The Hilltoppers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
