Despite having to fight off several power plays, the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines were able to defeat the Prairie Centre North Stars, 4-1.

Wadena-Deer Creek was paced by Dylan Phillips, who registered one goal and one assist. Phillips scored 6:25 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Wadena-Deer Creek. Shane Motschenbacher provided the assist.

The Wolverines' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Prairie Centre power plays. Wadena-Deer Creek got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Wadena-Deer Creek also had goals scored by Blaine Cooper, who had one and Mitchell Swanson, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Wadena-Deer Creek were Christian Berg, who had two and Mike Behl and Mike Paavola, who contributed one a piece.

Prairie Centre was led by Josh Panitzke, who scored the team's only goal. Panitzke scored 13:59 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Wadena-Deer Creek. Cody Steward picked up the assist.

Wesley Janson made 18 saves for the Wolverines on 19 shots. Wadena-Deer Creek incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Clay Deters recorded 24 saves for the North Stars. Prairie Centre ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
