Horvath lifts Marshall over Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter, 2-0

Quinn Horvath was all over the ice for the Marshall Tigers, as he tallied two goals in Marshall's 2-0 win over the Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter Bulldogs.

Horvath scored at 25 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Marshall and again while 3:14 into the second to make the score 2-0 Marshall.

The Tigers were boosted by Masion Campion, who turned in a shutout with 30 saves. Campion managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.81 prior to the game.

Marshall was held below its usual level of production. The Tigers average 4.4 goals per game. Marshall was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Tigers gives up 2.4 goals on average per game. Marshall's offense rang up 36 shots on Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter's net.

In addition, Marshall received assists from Alex Buysse and Beau Mikel, who each chipped in two.

The Bulldogs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Tigers to score on any of their four power plays. Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter's offense operated below it season average. The Bulldogs put an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game.

Marshall ended with 29 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. For the Tigers, Austin Leek and Corey Clark were ejected from the contest. Chris Amsden rejected 34 shots on goal for Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter. The Bulldogs totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Sam Wenner was ejected from the game.
