St. Paul Johnson holds on for 4-3 win against St. Paul Como Park

The St. Paul Johnson Governors survived a determined comeback attempt by the St. Paul Como Park Cougars on the way to a 4-3 win.

St. Paul Johnson made the score 3-0 on a goal by Mitchell Feske at 4:23 in the third period, and St. Paul Como Park got as close as 3-2 when Max Inskeep scored 9:35 into the third period.

The Governors were led by Matt Ranum, who grabbed one goal. Ranum scored 16:47 into the third period to make the score 4-3 St. Paul Johnson. Feske assisted on the tally.

St. Paul Johnson's offense rang up 46 shots on the Cougars' net.

St. Paul Johnson additionally got points from Taylor Bennett, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Justin Howell, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Feske, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for St. Paul Johnson came via Jake Solheid, who had one.

St. Paul Como Park was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 18 penalty minutes.

St. Paul Como Park also got points from Sawyer Scanlon, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. St. Paul Como Park also got a goal from Mitch McNamee as well. In addition, St. Paul Como Park received assists from Tom Stinar and Tor Will, who contributed one a piece.

Samuel Moberg rejected 20 shots on goal for the Governors. St. Paul Johnson incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Cougars' Ernie Mantel stopped 42 shots out of the 46 that he faced. St. Paul Como Park registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
