St. Paul Johnson beats St. Paul Como Park 4-1 as Howell gets hat trick

A hat trick by Justin Howell was the highlight in Governors' 4-1 win against the St. Paul Como Park Cougars.

Howell notched his first tally 12:18 into the second period. He then added goals at 56 seconds into the third and at 11:52 into the third.

The St. Paul Johnson Governors forced St. Paul Como Park goalie Ernie Mantel to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

St. Paul Johnson also got a goal from Matthew Blees as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Paul Johnson were Matt Ranum, Ethan Ranum, Jake Solheid, and jesse solheid, who contributed one a piece.

The Cougars' offense operated below they season average. St. Paul Como Park puts an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game.

The Cougars were led by Tor Will, who scored the team's only goal. Will scored on the power play 7:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Paul Como Park.

Samuel Moberg made 14 saves for St. Paul Johnson on 15 shots. The Governors incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Mantel recorded 28 saves for St. Paul Como Park. The Cougars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
