St. Cloud Tech rips St. Cloud Apollo, 7-1

The St. Cloud Apollo Eagles had trouble finding ways to stop the St. Cloud Tech Tigers, which beat Eagles, 7-1.

St. Cloud Tech was sparked by Austin Keller, who finished with one goal. Keller scored 12:32 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Cloud Tech.

The Tigers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. St. Cloud Tech has scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

St. Cloud Tech also got points from Jake Peterson, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Riley Bates, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Justin Oberg, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Jake Samuelson also scored for St. Cloud Tech. More assists for St. Cloud Tech came via Davis Reinholz, who had one, Matt Brettingen, who had two, and Tanner Skaja, who had three.

St. Cloud Apollo's offense operated below it season average. The Eagles average 4.6 goals per game.

St. Cloud Apollo was led by Josh Kenney, who scored the team's only goal. Kenney scored on the power play 12:43 into the second period to make the score 3-1 St. Cloud Tech. The Eagles had gained a power play chance when Keller was whistled for holding. Jared Christen assisted on the tally.

The Tigers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. St. Cloud Apollo totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
