Yon's big game bests St. Cloud Tech in 7-1 Roseau win

The Roseau Rams' Zach Yon had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-1 win over the St. Cloud Tech Tigers.

Yon's first goal came 6:20 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:37 into the first, at 10:52 into the second, and at 7:37 into the third.

Roseau was led by goalie Ryan Anderson, who finished with 31 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Anderson will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.31.

The Rams' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four St. Cloud Tech power plays. Roseau surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Rams average 3.9 goals per contest. Roseau's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Rams finished with 14 penalty minutes.

Roseau also got points from Alex Strand, who also racked up one goal and three assists. Alex Halstensgard also scored for Roseau. In addition, Roseau received assists from Brady Castle, who had four and Alex Ziegler and Austin Hogenson, who contributed one a piece.

St. Cloud Tech did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Tigers average 4.0 goals per game. St. Cloud Tech's offense rang up 32 shots on Roseau's net.

The Tigers were led by Jake Peterson, who scored the team's only goal. Peterson scored 2:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Cloud Tech. Justin Oberg assisted on the tally.

The Rams registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities. Austin Althaus recorded 18 saves for St. Cloud Tech. The Tigers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
