Sartell-St.Stephen's Zwiener deadly on offense in 4-1 win against Sauk Rapids-Rice

The Sartell-St.Stephen Sabres relied on the scoring touch of Spencer Zwiener, who netted two goals, to beat the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm, 4-1.

Zwiener's tallies came at 1:08 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Sartell-St.Stephen and on the power play 11:40 into the second to make the score 4-0 Sartell-St.Stephen.

Sartell-St.Stephen pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 40 penalty minutes.

Andrew Lindmeier also scored for Sartell-St.Stephen. More assists for Sartell-St.Stephen came via Ethan Lorsung, who had one and Aaron Randall, who had two.

Sauk Rapids-Rice was often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The Storm surpassed its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game. Sauk Rapids-Rice found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 14 shots against the Sabres' defense. The Storm were ineffective while on the power play, as they were held to one goal off of nine man advantages.

Elliott Brookins rejected 13 shots on goal for Sartell-St.Stephen. The Sabres registered one goal on six power play opportunities. William Mortenson recorded 14 saves for Sauk Rapids-Rice.
