Erickson leads Sartell-St.Stephen over Windom Area, 6-3

Behind a great game by Kyle Erickson, who had two goals and one assist, the Sartell-St.Stephen Sabres defeated the Windom Area Eagles, 6-3.

Erickson's tallies came at 1:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Sartell-St.Stephen and 12:36 into the third to make the score 6-3 Sartell-St.Stephen.

Sartell-St.Stephen forced Windom Area goalie Tyler McGowan to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots. The Sabres bested their season scoring average. Sartell-St.Stephen averages 3.5 goals per game.

Sartell-St.Stephen also got points from Matthew Ringhand, who also had one goal and one assist, Spencer Zwiener, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Aaron Randall, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Sartell-St.Stephen also got a goal from Ethan Lorsung as well. Other players who recorded assists for Sartell-St.Stephen were Isaac Linstrom, Matthew Bakken, and Cullen Chisholm, who each chipped in one.

The Eagles managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Windom Area wound up below its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Eagles were helped by Eric Haberman, who registered one goal. Haberman scored 12:33 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Sartell-St.Stephen. Zach Bartosh assisted on the tally. Stuart Schumacher also scored for Windom Area. More assists for Windom Area came via Alex Leopold and Travis Janssen, who contributed one a piece.

Carter Kasianov recorded 18 saves for the Sabres. Sartell-St.Stephen incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. McGowan rejected 42 shots on goal for Windom Area. The Eagles registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
