Fergus Falls wins tough contest against Sartell-St.Stephen, 4-2

The Fergus Falls Otters and the Sartell-St.Stephen Sabres were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Fergus Falls made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

The Otters gained the winning advantage on a goal by Joe Nathe 4:05 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Nathe had a great game for Fergus Falls, netting two goals.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Taylor Lemke also scored for Fergus Falls. In addition, Fergus Falls received assists from Aidan Colling, who had two and Austin Hanson, Kyler Peterson, and Ean Goos, who each chipped in one.

Sartell-St.Stephen was helped by Aaron Randall, who finished with one goal. Randall scored 6:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Sartell-St.Stephen. Matthew Bakken assisted on the tally. Sartell-St.Stephen also got points from Bakken, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Sartell-St.Stephen came via Kyle Erickson and Bret Thompson, who contributed one a piece.

The Otters' Andrew MacFarlane stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Fergus Falls incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Elliott Brookins recorded 12 saves for the Sabres. Sartell-St.Stephen incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
