Legacy Christian Academy rips St. Paul Highland Park, 10-1Highland Arena North Fri, Dec 21, 2012 The Legacy Christian Academy Lions had a six-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 10-1 win over the St. Paul Highland Park Scots. Tyler Arenz was all over the ice for Legacy Christian Academy, as he tallied two goals and three assists in the win. Arenz scored the first of his two goals at 5:15 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Legacy Christian Academy. Joe Olufson assisted on the tally. Arenz's next tally made the score 4-1 Legacy Christian Academy with 7:11 left in the first period. Jacob Kaden provided the assist. The Lions managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Legacy Christian Academy wound up below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game. The Lions kept St. Paul Highland Park's goalie busy throughout the game, and Howie Sands made 45 saves on 55 shots. Legacy Christian Academy outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Lions average 5.1 goals per contest. Legacy Christian Academy additionally got points from Sam Asfahl, who also had one goal and one assist, Ike Larson, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Lucas Stauffeneker, who also registered two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Legacy Christian Academy included Shaw Wiczek, who had two and Gunnar Koski and Reed Paavola, who each put in one. More assists for Legacy Christian Academy came via Jordan Sutherland and Brandon Leier, who each chipped in one. The Scots put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Legacy Christian Academy to score on any of its three power plays. St. Paul Highland Park was led by Dylan Zavoral, who scored the team's only goal. Zavoral scored 10:00 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Legacy Christian Academy. Brandon Cram made 17 saves for the Lions on 18 shots. The Scots incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors and had no power play opportunities.
