St. Michael-Albertville erases deficit to stun St. Cloud Tech, 3-2

The St. Michael-Albertville Knights climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the St. Cloud Tech Tigers, 3-2.

St. Michael-Albertville never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Knights fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by St. Cloud Tech's Riley Bates at 6:09 in the second period. St. Michael-Albertville tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Zac Borgen at 16:36 in the second period. The Knights got the game winner at 7:24 in the third period on a goal by Borgen.

St. Michael-Albertville was paced by Tony Bork, who racked up one goal.

The Knights' offense rang up 32 shots on the Tigers' net.

St. Michael-Albertville also got points from Borgen, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. St. Michael-Albertville also got a goal from David Anderson as well. In addition, St. Michael-Albertville received assists from Nate Fischbach, who had two and Aaron Michaelson and Jon Gibbs, who each chipped in one.

St. Cloud Tech was held below its usual level of production. The Tigers put an average of 4.4 pucks into the net per game.

St. Cloud Tech was helped by Brady Davidson, who registered one goal. Davidson scored 4:51 into the second period to make the score 1-0 St. Cloud Tech. Justin Oberg assisted on the tally. More assists for St. Cloud Tech came via Matt Brettingen and Tanner Skaja, who contributed one a piece.

Matt Borgen made 19 saves for St. Michael-Albertville on 21 shots. The Knights totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. St. Michael-Albertville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mike Ryan was ejected from the game. Austin Althaus recorded 29 saves for the Tigers. St. Cloud Tech incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
