St. Michael-Albertville falls apart in second, loses to Duluth East, 6-1

The St. Michael-Albertville Knights allowed the Duluth East Greyhounds to net three goals during the second period and fell, 6-1.

Meirs Moore was all over the ice for Duluth East, as he tallied two goals and three assists in the win. Moore scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 1:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Duluth East. Jack Forbort provided the assist. Moore's next tally on the power play made the score 5-0 Duluth East with 12:42 left in the third period. Forbort assisted on the tally.

The defensemen of the Greyhounds were also effective in St. Michael-Albertville's zone, and came away with two goals. Duluth East's offense was clicking better than usual and put 48 shots on goal during the game, better than the 5.0 shots per game it averages.

Duluth East also got points from Alex Toscano, who also had one goal and two assists. Duluth East also got a goal from Ryan Lundgren as well. More assists for Duluth East came via Tyler Sworsky and Phil Beaulieu, who contributed one a piece.

The Knights avoided man-down situations well, totaling one major for five minutes in penalty time. St. Michael-Albertville ended up below its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game. The Knights were held below their usual level of production. St. Michael-Albertville puts an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game.

Dylan Parker made 19 saves for the Greyhounds on 20 shots. Duluth East incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Knights' Matt Borgen stopped 42 shots out of the 48 that he faced. St. Michael-Albertville registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
