Yon's big game bests International Falls in 8-0 Roseau win

Zach Yon was all over the ice for the Roseau Rams, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Roseau's 8-0 win over the International Falls Broncos.

Yon found the back of the net nine seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Roseau and again while 13:10 into the second to make the score 4-0 Roseau.

The Rams was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Roseau gives up 2.4 goals on average per game. International Falls was unable to stop the Rams from sending pucks towards the net, and Roseau eventually piled up 47 shots on goal. The Rams surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Roseau has scored at the pace of 4.0 goals per game during the current campaign.

Roseau also got points from Alex Halstensgard, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Tanner Okeson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Brady Castle, who also registered one goal and two assists. Dylan Mielke also scored for Roseau. More assists for Roseau came via Alex Ziegler, who had three, Alex Strand, who had four, and Corey Olson and Cole Bjugson, who contributed one a piece.

The Broncos could not produce up to they normal offensive output. International Falls puts an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game. The Broncos found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 12 shots against the Rams' defense.

Austin Halvorson rejected 12 shots on goal for Roseau. The Rams finished the contest with no penalties and went 1-for-0 with the man advantage. Wesley Gunnerson recorded 39 saves for International Falls. The Broncos avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays.
