Roseau holds on for 4-3 win against Bemidji

The Roseau Rams survived a determined comeback attempt by the Bemidji Lumberjacks on the way to a 4-3 win.

Roseau made the score 4-1 on a goal by Alex Ziegler at 12:26 in the second period, and Bemidji got as close as 4-3 when Matt Serratore scored 7:10 into the third period.

The Rams' offense rang up 54 shots on the Lumberjacks' net. Roseau was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

The Rams were helped by Cole Bjugson, who had two goals and one assist. Bjugson scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 51 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Roseau. Roseau had gotten the advantage when Bemidji's Mike Sauer was sent off for tripping. Tanner Okeson assisted on the tally. Bjugson's next tally on the power play made the score 3-1 Roseau with 10:30 left in the second period. The Rams had taken the advantage when the Lumberjacks' Ben Christopher got sent off for slashing. Brady Castle picked up the assist. Roseau additionally got points from Okeson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Roseau received assists from Zach Yon, who had three and Alex Halstensgard and Alex Strand, who contributed one a piece.

Bemidji also got a goal from Noah Burns as well. Other players who recorded assists for Bemidji were Zach Sauer, who had one.

Roseau's Ryan Anderson stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Rams incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Gabe Heifort rejected 50 shots on goal for Bemidji. The Lumberjacks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
