The Rogers Royals and the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm skate to 2-2 (OT) tieRogers AC Tue, Nov 27, 2012 Sauk Rapids-Rice found itself down againt Rogers, but battled back to secure to a 2-2 (OT) tie. The Royals could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Rogers averages 5.3 goals per game. The Royals kept the Storm's goalie busy throughout the game, and William Mortenson made 52 saves on 54 shots. Rogers was led by Branden Cecil, who racked up one goal and one assist. Cecil scored 12:43 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Rogers. Alexander Lorman picked up the assist. Jake Good also scored for Rogers. More assists for Rogers came via Tyler Antony, who had one. Sauk Rapids-Rice's offense rang up 31 shots on the Royals' net. The Storm were led by Ryan Rutar, who racked up one goal and one assist. Rutar scored 3:57 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Wyatt Orth provided the assist. Sauk Rapids-Rice also got a goal from Brandon Duray as well. In addition, Sauk Rapids-Rice received assists from Ross Chapa, who had one. Brock Maxwell rejected 29 shots on goal for Rogers. The Royals avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays. Sauk Rapids-Rice ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play.
