Mankato West falls to Rochester Lourdes after surprising comebackRochester: Graham Arena 1 Tue, Jan 08, 2013 Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Rochester Lourdes Eagles battled back to claim a 3-2 victory over the Mankato West Scarlets. Rochester Lourdes never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Eagles trailed 2-0 after a goal by Mankato West's Nate Krueger at 13:48 in the first period. Rochester Lourdes tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Alex Funk at 6:07 in the second period. The Eagles netted the game winner at 9:10 in the second period on a goal by Funk. Rochester Lourdes was led by Ben Weir, who finished with one goal. The Eagles managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Rochester Lourdes wound up below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game. The Eagles forced the Scarlets goalie Jake Spiess to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.
