Colford leads Breck School over Rochester Lourdes, 7-2

Behind a great game by Matt Colford, who had two goals and three assists, the Breck School Mustangs defeated the Rochester Lourdes Eagles, 7-2.

Colford found the back of the net 2:54 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Breck School and again while 15:30 into the third to make the score 7-2 Breck School.

Breck School found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Mustangs average 4.7 goals per game.

Breck School also got points from Thomas Lindstrom, who also tallied two goals and two assists and Jack O''Connor, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Breck School also got a goal from Chase Ellingson as well. In addition, Breck School received assists from Ben Gleekel, Tyler Lindstrom, Michael Orke, and Justin Paulson, who each chipped in one.

Rochester Lourdes could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Eagles average 4.5 goals per game.

Rochester Lourdes was led by Alex Funk, who racked up one goal and one assist. Funk scored on the power play 8:52 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Eagles had taken the advantage when Breck School's Lindstrom got sent off for roughing. Cody Cossette picked up the assist. Jason Samuelson also scored for Rochester Lourdes. Other players who recorded assists for Rochester Lourdes were Ben Weir, who had one.

The Mustangs' Henry Johnson stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Breck School incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Andrew Ellingson took the loss and made 20 saves before being replaced by Jack Berkel who made three saves. Rochester Lourdes incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
