Winona falls to Rochester John Marshall in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Rochester John Marshall Rockets pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Winona Winhawks on a clutch goal by Sam Broman.

Although Rochester John Marshall was up by as many as two goals in the third period, Winona kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Winhawks pulled to within 2-1 on a goal by Nick Rowe at 14:03 in the third period.

The Rockets' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Winona power plays. Rochester John Marshall's offense rang up 31 shots on Winona's net.

The Rockets were led by Hunter Heightland, who finished with two goals. Heightland scored the first of his two goals short handed at 13:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Rochester John Marshall. Rochester John Marshall found itself down a man on Corbin Holman's interference. Gavin Sandwick assisted on the tally. Heightland's next tally short handed made the score 2-0 Rochester John Marshall with 10:32 left in the third period. Cole Donahue picked up the assist. In addition, Rochester John Marshall received assists from Jared Bromberg and Nick Paulson, who contributed one a piece.

The Rockets' Jacob Garvey stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Rochester John Marshall incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Andrew Yeske rejected 28 shots on goal for the Winhawks. Winona incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
