Rochester John Marshall uses early goal to top Rochester Century, 4-2

Jake Dravis gave the Rochester John Marshall Rockets the lead in the first period, and the Rochester Century Panthers was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 4-2.

Rochester John Marshall took over the lead for good with a goal by Dravis at 1:44 in the first period. Alec McGinn provided the assist.

Nick Paulson had two goals to lead the Rockets to victory. Paulson found the back of the net 31 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Rochester John Marshall and again while 24 seconds into the third to make the score 3-1 Rochester John Marshall.

Rochester John Marshall managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Rockets wound up below its season average of 6.0 penalty minutes per game. Rochester Century was unable to stop Rochester John Marshall from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rockets eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Rochester John Marshall also got points from Dravis, who also finished with two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Rochester John Marshall came via Jared Bromberg and Sam Broman, who each chipped in one.

The Panthers were led by Dalton Travis, who grabbed two goals. Travis scored the first of his two goals at 14:36 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Rochester John Marshall. Travis' next tally made the score 3-2 Rochester John Marshall with 6:52 left in the third period.

Rochester John Marshall's Jacob Garvey stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Rockets registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
