Paulson leads Rochester John Marshall over Mankato East/Loyola, 5-2

Behind a great game by Nick Paulson, who had two goals and two assists, the Rochester John Marshall Rockets defeated the Mankato East/Loyola Cougars, 5-2.

Paulson's tallies came on the power play at 3:04 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Rochester John Marshall and 3:19 into the third to make the score 4-2 Rochester John Marshall.

Rochester John Marshall forced Mankato East/Loyola goalie Jeremia Merela to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Rochester John Marshall also got points from Sam Broman, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Cole Donahue also scored for Rochester John Marshall. In addition, Rochester John Marshall received assists from Jake Dravis, who had two and Brett Helling and Paul Cyr, who each chipped in one.

The Cougars were helped by Teal Leskey, who racked up one goal. Leskey scored 12:54 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Rochester John Marshall. Carter Johnson picked up the assist. Mankato East/Loyola also got a goal from Alec Schultz as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mankato East/Loyola were Brad Johnson, who had one.

Jacob Garvey recorded 18 saves for the Rockets. Rochester John Marshall incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Mankato East/Loyola's Merela stopped 34 shots out of the 39 that he faced. The Cougars incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
