Eastview hangs on, beats Rochester John Marshall 3-1Rochester Recreation Center Thu, Jan 10, 2013 The Eastview Lightning took the lead against the Rochester John Marshall Rockets in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 3-1 victory. A goal 21 seconds into the the first period by Keith Muehlbauer proved to be the game winner, and powered Eastview to the victory Jake McGlocklin picked up the assist.Ryan McNamara had a great game for the Lightning, netting two goals. McNamara found the back of the net 13:41 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Eastview and again while on the power play 15:57 into the third to make the score 3-1 Eastview. Eastview's offense rang up 42 shots on Rochester John Marshall's net. In addition, Eastview received assists from Nick Abbott, who had one and Mitch Beattie, who had two. The Rockets' offense were handcuffed by the Lightning's defensive play, and Rochester John Marshall managed only 12 shots on goal during the game. The Rockets were led by Nick Paulson, who scored the team's only goal. Paulson scored on the power play 10:18 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Eastview. A boarding penalty on McGlocklin had put Rochester John Marshall on the power play. Jared Bromberg provided the assist. Eastview's Matthew Montgomery stopped 11 shots out of the 12 that he faced. The Lightning totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. Jacob Garvey made 39 saves for the Rockets on 42 shots. Rochester John Marshall totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
