Rochester Century blows out Mankato East/Loyola, 3-0

The Rochester Century Panthers were firing on all cylinders against the Mankato East/Loyola Cougars, and when the final buzzer sounded Panthers emerged with a 3-0 win.

Rochester Century was paced by Mitchell Hoover, who finished with one goal. Hoover scored 4:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Rochester Century. Hayden Ashworth assisted on the tally.

Mankato East/Loyola was unable to stop the Panthers from sending pucks towards the net, and Rochester Century eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Rochester Century also got points from Ashworth, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Riese Zmolek, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Rochester Century received assists from Dalton Travis and Alex Ney, who each chipped in one.

The Cougars managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Mankato East/Loyola ended up below its season average of 12.0 penalty minutes per game. The Cougars were held below their usual level of production. Mankato East/Loyola puts an average of 2.9 pucks into the net per game. The Panthers' defense shut down the Cougars' forwards for much of the game, and Mankato East/Loyola got off only 13 shots during the contest.

Eric Rohleder recorded 13 saves for Rochester Century. The Panthers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Jeremia Merela made 39 saves for the Cougars on 42 shots. Mankato East/Loyola registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
