The Redwood Valley Cardinals' Chris Hallden scored 37 seconds into overtime to beat the Fairmont Cardinals, 4-3 (OT).

Redwood Valley kept Fairmont's goalie busy throughout the game, and Colton Cunning made 46 saves on 50 shots.

Redwood Valley also got a goal from Jacob Prouty as well. Other players who recorded assists for Redwood Valley were Logan Sandgren, Hunter Breidenbach, and Austin Kretsch, who contributed one a piece.

The Cardinals were led by Grant Becker, who tallied two goals. Becker scored the first of his two goals short handed at 2:14 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Fairmont. A roughing call on Ben Mitchell put Fairmont on the penalty kill. Becker's next tally short handed made the score 3-3 with 15:59 left in the third period. Matthew Lytle picked up the assist. Greg Claeys also scored for Fairmont. More assists for Fairmont came via Kalon Wilson, who had one.

Jordan Houle recorded 27 saves for the Cardinals. Redwood Valley incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Cardinals totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Fairmont ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Wilson was ejected from the game.
