Princeton beats Proctor 7-0 as Schroepfer gets hat trick

Tommy Schroepfer netted a hat trick to lead the Princeton Tigers over the Proctor Rails, 7-0.

Schroepfer's first goal came 8:17 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:21 into the second and at 7:42 into the third.

Princeton led 5-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

The Tigers stifled Proctor's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Princeton was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Tigers average 2.4 goals allowed per game. Princeton forced the Rails goalie Jacob Mercier to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Princeton also got a goal from Justin Carlson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Princeton were Jake Green, who had two, Daniel Voce, who had three, and Cam Paulson, Jordan Forschen, and Joey Stenslie, who each chipped in one.

Proctor was often in penalty trouble, totaling five minors and two majors for 20 minutes in penalty time. The Rails surpassed its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. Proctor could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Rails put an average of 2.9 pucks into the net per game.

Max Mattson made 16 saves for the Tigers on 16 shots. Princeton totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 3-for-6 on the power play. Mercier recorded 30 saves for Proctor. The Rails registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
