Mattson, Princeton blank Cambridge/Isanti, 7-0

Max Mattson recorded a shutout against the Cambridge/Isanti Bluejackets as the Princeton Tigers picked up a 7-0 win.

Princeton got the win on the strength of a great game by Cam Paulson, who had one goal and two assists. Paulson scored 6:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Princeton. Dan Muench provided the assist.

The Tigers stifled Cambridge/Isanti's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Princeton's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Tigers average 2.1 goals allowed per game. Princeton forced the Bluejackets goalie Jacob Sibell to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Princeton also got points from Daniel Voce, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Collin Buness, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Muench, who also had one goal and two assists. Princeton also got a goal from Jake Green as well. In addition, Princeton received assists from Billy Oakes, who had one and A.J. Wesloh and Joey Stenslie, who each chipped in two.

Cambridge/Isanti was held below its usual level of production. The Bluejackets average 2.5 goals per game. Cambridge/Isanti's offense rang up 31 shots on the Tigers' net.

Max Mattson made 31 saves for Princeton on 31 shots. The Tigers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Sibell recorded 34 saves for the Bluejackets. Cambridge/Isanti incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
