The Delano/Rockford Tigers came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Orono Spartans, but did just enough to escape with a 4-3 victory.

Delano/Rockford led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Tigers' Eric Ylitalo's scored at 9:09 in the second period to put Delano/Rockford up 3-0.

In a losing effort, Orono was led by Gavin Payne, who tallied two goals and one assist. Payne scored the first of his two goals at 10:54 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Delano/Rockford. Joey Luedtke picked up the assist. Payne's next tally made the score 3-2 Delano/Rockford with 7:19 left in the second period.

In the losing effort, the Spartans were paced by Payne, who finished with two goals and one assist.

The Tigers were helped by Adam McLain, who had one goal. McLain scored 3:55 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Delano/Rockford. Chad Oja provided the assist. Delano/Rockford also got points from Oja, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Mike Krueger also scored for Delano/Rockford. In addition, Delano/Rockford received assists from Grant Prinsen and Daniel Keranen, who contributed one a piece.

Orono also got a goal from Danny Willson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Orono were Mitch Skatter, who had one.

Delano/Rockford's Aaron Grangroth stopped 17 shots out of the 20 that he faced. The Tigers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Clay Knutsen made 21 saves for Orono on 25 shots. The Spartans incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
