The Northern Lakes Lightning relied on the scoring touch of Kegan Couture, who netted two goals, to beat the Becker-Big Lake Eagles, 3-0.

Couture's tallies came at 28 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Northern Lakes and on the power play 13:20 into the second to make the score 3-0 Northern Lakes.

Northern Lakes stifled Becker-Big Lake's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Lightning's offense rang up 42 shots on the Eagles' net.

Kyle Narveson also scored for Northern Lakes. In addition, Northern Lakes received assists from Nick Blanchette, Ben Moe, Austin Mesenbrink, and Gaven Bickford, who contributed one a piece.

Becker-Big Lake could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Eagles put an average of 2.5 pucks into the net per game. Becker-Big Lake was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 16 penalty minutes.

Northern Lakes' Mitch Stangel stopped 22 shots out of the 22 that he faced. The Lightning incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Ben Manzke made 39 saves for the Eagles on 42 shots. Becker-Big Lake registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
