Cambridge/Isanti rolls over North Branch, 10-2Chisago Lakes Arena Tue, Dec 04, 2012 The Cambridge/Isanti Bluejackets had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 10-2 win over the North Branch Vikings. Preston Simon was all over the ice for Cambridge/Isanti, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Simon scored 1:10 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Cambridge/Isanti. The Bluejackets pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 34 penalty minutes. Cambridge/Isanti excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. The Bluejackets forced North Branch goalie Tyler Byrkit to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots. Cambridge/Isanti surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Bluejackets have scored at the pace of 5.3 goals per game during the current campaign. Cambridge/Isanti also got points from Mitch Renstrom, who also registered one goal and two assists, Jacob Sylvester, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Collin Anderson, who also had two goals and two assists, and Veeti Uuttera, who also racked up one goal and three assists. Elliott Simon also scored for Cambridge/Isanti. More assists for Cambridge/Isanti came via Mavrick Nelson, who had one. The Vikings stifled Cambridge/Isanti's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. North Branch was led by Brandon Kratzke, who registered one goal. Kratzke scored 16:28 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Cambridge/Isanti. Colten Danks assisted on the tally. North Branch also got a goal from Mitchell Patten as well. Other players who recorded assists for North Branch were Tim Courtright, who had one. The Bluejackets' Tim Schultz stopped 20 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Cambridge/Isanti registered zero goals on four power play opportunities. The Bluejackets ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and TJ Pagel was ejected from the game. Tyler Byrkit made 41 saves for the Vikings on 51 shots. North Branch incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
